Controversy! Was The Kimbo Slice Fight Fixed?

Now, I'm not saying one way or another, but MMA fans have certainly thrown some pretty interesting rumors around. The buzz is that the Kimbo Slice versus James Thompson fight was fixed. Some fans and critics have said that Kimbo should have lost earlier in the match when Thompson landed quite a few unanswered blows. Other fans have said that perhaps the ref stopped the fight prematurely, especially since Thompson had fought out of similar situations earlier in the match. Still other fight fans say that to suggest a fix is insulting, and that Kimbo won that fight on his own.

UFC 85: Bedlam - Matt Hughes Vs. Thiago Alves

This should be a good one folks. The former champ Matt Hughes is known for his wrestling skills and his vicious ground and pound. Thiago Alves is known as primarily a Muay Thai fighter with nasty leg kicks. Who will take the win? Will it be the experienced veteran tossing Alves around the octagon, or will the hungry young fighter in Alves use a win against Hughes as a stepping stone to bigger and better things?

Also scheduled on the UFC 85 card is another respected, although not as well known, veteran in Fabricio Werdum. He is a ridiculously good ground fighter that has gotten off to a slow start in the UFC. His last fight against Andrei Arlovski drew boos from the crowd for its slow pace, with neither fighter willing to take any risks.

His opponent, Brandon Vera, has had a couple of false starts in the UFC as well. After starting off strong, defeating two opponents in one night at a WEC event, Vera entered the UFC and fought successfully against four straight opponents. He then suffered a loss and a broken hand against Tim Sylvia, and will be battling for his spot in the division in his fight against Werdu
